EU in Ghana gives support to the New offie for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender group in Ghana.
The European union in Ghana has given their full support to the opening of the new community space for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Rights of Ghana.
Some few weeks ago, The LGBT office was opened in Accra and there have been situations where people have urged the government to turn that office down immediately.
The Executive Secretary of the National Coalition for Proper Human Sexual Rights and Family Values, Moses Foh-Amoaning, has recently waged a crusade for the shutdown of new office space.
“The presidency, the ministry of foreign Affairs, and the IGP have every right to investigate that office to close it down immediately and arrest and prosecute those people involved in it,” Foh-Amoaning said.
The EU has confirmed it participatory in the opening of the new office for the LGBT right group in Ghana.
The EU post on Facebook read: “A couple of weeks ago the EU in Ghana participated in the opening of the new community space of the @LGBTRightsGhana. Equality, tolerance, and respect for each other are core values of the EU. The EU supports civil society organisations promoting #LGBTIQ rights. #EU4LGBT”
